The Double Sided Sweetie!

Shhh Emily is talking. That is what I have to say about Emily. In a family of 10, you really find that you take the one quiet child for granted. When she finally talks, we have to quiet the whole family to listen.

Emily is a joy to be around. She has always been so much fun and such a sweet blessing from the Lord. Emily is one who epitomizes still water runs deep. When you take time to sit and talk to Emily, you find that her life is full of thoughts and ideas and dreams.

Emily's greatest love for her first 11 years was to draw or crochet while listening to books on tape. Then her reading abilities caught up to her years and now she reads all the time. She will curl up with a book on many a cold winter day, and we want hear a peep from her for hours.

Emily's hidden talent is art. She really is quite good with drawing and especially painting. It is amazing to see her work with so little effort. I hope one day you will be blessed to see her work too. (We are planning a children's book). :)

Out of the mouths of children and nursing babes

And heaven and nature sneeze,
and heaven and nature sneeze,
and heaven, and heaven, and nature sneeze!
Thus sang one of my sibling. She was singing at the top of her lungs for the fun of it!! I almost snapped at her and told her to please be quiet. And then I stopped. That would be wrong.

More and more our world is stealing the joy of having children. When they steal this joy they steal it from not only the people who could have been parents, but also from the children who could have been siblings! I need to think of everything my siblings do as a blessing! Singing and Screaming, Talking and testing my patience, Smiles and Struggles. I love them all! (Or i need to) :)

Fight the battle! Be a soldier! Hug and smile at your siblings today!

Water Park!

a

At trip to a water park in the middle of summer can be a real treat! Especially if you go with some really good friends! We went to a water park near us with our sweet friends the Boyds! (I would make their name a link like all the cool people do, but because I lack that talent here is just their link! http://seedstosew.blogspot.com/)

We had a whole lot of fun! They have nine and we have eight so all together there were seventeen kids! What fun!

Rachel and Sarah

This post is way overdue! Sorry!!! A couple of weeks ago we went with our sweet friends the Marshes to a state park for a hike, swim, canoeing, and a picnic. It was so much fun! We took a long hike (well maybe not so long) then the little kids swam while the Marshes jumped off the cliff into the water. The cliff was about ten feet high. Maybe? Anyway! Then we hiked back to canoe for a while. That was fun! We (the Pritchetts) had never been canoeing before, but the Marshes had

A Grandmother's Gift!!!

This past week our maternal grandmother (GG) came down from Tennessee to celebrate my mom's birthday. Happy Birthday!!! :) Anyway as her gift she helped us make container gardens. We went to Lowes and after an hour of talking with the lady from Lowes we came home with all our stuff. We also made hanging baskets for the porch. In the hanging baskets are some Calibrachoa. And as soon as I find the tags that they came with I will tell you what the other plants are! :) So... let's hear it for a fun gift from GG!

This is our grandmother. It was taken at Christmas, but I forgot to take a picture of her this trip!

My Brothers!!!

Why do I love my brothers? Because they are what make me laugh when I am sad, they cheer me up when I am sick, they laugh with me, and they mean so much to me. Ryan was number 5 after 4 girls. Then 2 more girls came along. He was so sweet with us. We carried him around like a big baby doll and he never complained! Michael is our blessing, after Mommy had miscarried three times we didn't think there would be any little Pritchetts! But God was - oh-so-good and along came Michael!! It is fitting that his name means "Who is like God?" .
Where would be with out our brothers? Not very far! There are a lot of times I turn to Ryan and ask him, "do you have your knife?". And he does and he comes and cuts it for me!
This is what God gave brothers to us for. Companionship and friends!
