God and Government Series...

  • The first principle of a governmental system is self government. Self government relies on wisdom and the Fear of the Lord. For the Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
  • The motivation for self government begins in the knowledge that we are here to do the Lord's work. This in turn requires... Read more HERE

Land Between the Lakes!! Part 2

The loom was enormous! How many of you think of something this big when you think of a loom? I don't!
A charming photo!

Big beautiful horse!

Those horses were sweet and huge! I loved seeing them!

I love this! Erin got this great shot of Sarah and her favorite animal!

I love the way the house slopes down to the yard. This was a cabin in the pioneer farm we toured!

This was a really funny story! We payed 5 dollars to drive for an hour through the "bison prarie"! Did we see a bison? NO! Then the next day we are out driving and we see 42 for FREE!!!!
These girls are hunting for the coons that stole our hot dog buns!

We had the best time! I am trying to get photos up, but Blogger is not cooperating! Bear with me here!

Anyway we had a great time with our friends!

More later!

Rachel's Dress

This is my sister (this is Jessica writing) Rachel in her new dress. Now it is really cute and very nice, but then she tells you that she made it with out a pattern! Not only that, but she has never made a colonial dress before!! She is really creative with sewing! We all really enjoy sewing, but Rachel takes it to a new level!

Anniston Museum!

Saturday we went to Anniston to visit the Natural History Museum! it was so much fun, and we strongly recommend this as a great trip! These pictures (outside) are on the "birding" trail. We really like the whole experience.

Erin and Michael
"Is this real?"
These owls were the neatest thing I have ever seen!
They kept moving and bobbing all around.

William Tell

This is our life! In our curriculum we read a book about William Tell so... they did a play!

P.S. This is our first attempt at video so it is not perfect!

When in the course of human events...

We had a history show-and-tell last night. We all prepared something to show what we learned from school this year.
We also made costumes for ourselves and our dolls.

Rachel recited the entire poem of  The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere,

Ryan made an indian from a book we read, Paddle to the Sea,

Jamie imitated some of the pictures in our schoolroom,

Jamie, Emily and Erin did a general overview of the Revolutionary War,

Sarah told about her math book,
 Jessica told about the Acadians,
and Michael waged war on our schoolroom.
,
All in all we had a lot of fun.
